PROJECT OVERVIEW
Surat Castle, or Surat Fort, is a 16th-century structure in the city of Surat. The Ahmedabad king Sultan Mahmood-III (1538–1554) ordered its construction to defend the city from the frequent attacks that had devastated it. He entrusted the work to Safi Agha, a Turkish soldier who had been ennobled with the title of Khudawand Khan. The construction work of this castle was completed in the year 154.
From a historical point of view, Surat Castle is an iconic place for business. More than 84 countries communicate from Surat Castle.
WHAT DID THE CLIENT WANT TO ACHIEVE?
The client, Surat Smart City Development Limited (SSCDL) Surat Municipal Corporation, wants to recreate history via technology, such as 3D projection mapping with an immersive surround sound system.
SCOPE OF WORK YOUR COMPANY WAS INVOLVED IN
We Focus Light & Fixture recreate the History as per the consultant’s design of the equipment for the Audio and video and require supporting connectors. We are creating HD 4K content in three different stories in three languages (Hindi, English, and Local Gujarati) with a prominent famous voice-over artist and delicately designing and shooting the content and music for the show.
WHAT KEY CHALLENGES WERE FACED?
In Surat Castle, there are three different-shaped and-sized historical buildings, and we have to create the video and picture in one image so that it covers almost 280 Running feet high and 30 feet high of the building.
Also, the show was integrated with different types of lighting luminaires, as per the client’s requirement that no equipment be visible to the visitors, icnlduing and all the audio and lighting products.
HOW WERE THOSE CHALLENGES RESOLVED?
We have skilled in-house key staff for such prestigious projects. After many hours of R&B and trial and error, we completed these types of prestigious projects in a very short time of three months.
HOW HAS YOUR WORK HELPED THE CLIENT?
We create history via outdoor 180-degree 3D projection mapping with an immersive sound system, so now, there is an increase of almost 30% to 40% in visitors. Almost all the visitors do not know the history and importance of the building in the past. So after the show, all visitors are shocked and proud of the past and present of the Surat castle.

We are pleased to include this project in our portfolio of prestigious Iconic projects. During the installation, we learned and faced many technical problems, which our team was able to overcome in a timely manner.
